Contrary to undertaking, CM Parvez Elahi insists Punjab Assembly 'will be dissolved'

The Punjab Assembly will be dissolved in line with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan's directives, Chief Minister Parvez Elahi said on Friday moments after he assured the Lahore High Court (LHC) that he would not disband the legislative.

The LHC restored Elahi as the chief minister earlier today following an undertaking submitted by him stating that he would not dissolve the provincial assembly.

Taking to his Twitter handle, the chief minister wrote: "The decision to dissolve the assemblies is final. Imran Khan's decision will be implemented."

CM Elahi said that the "imported government" is running from elections, but the Punjab government will ensure that it is "presented in the people's court".
